Why Choose Us

Cumberland Inspection Service is a family owned and operated business.  We have worked and lived in the Middle Tennessee area our whole lives.  This is our home and we are proud to serve from the edges of the Cumberland Plateau, North and South of the Cumberland River, and just west of the Tennessee River, or what is known as the Cumberland Basin area.  That is why we are called Cumberland Inspection Service.  Here is a list of some of the cities that we serve; Nashville, Clarksville, Hendersonville, Gallatin, Goodlettsville, Madison, Lebanon, Mt Juliet, Hermitage, Green Hills, Brentwood, Franklin, La Vergne, Symrna, Spring Hill, College Grove, Thompson Station, Bellevue, Pegram, White Bluff, Kingston Springs, Fairview, Burns, Dickson, Waverly, McEwen, Centerville, Ashland City, Pleasant View, Springfield, Dover, Erin, and Charlotte.

When you hire us, you are hiring a local company, home inspector, and a neighbor, and we take that responsibility very seriously.  We treat every client like family and treat every home inspection as if our own family was moving in.

We know how stressful real estate transaction can be with all the decisions that have to be made, all the paper work that has to be signed, making an offer, finally getting a contract, mortgage decisions, and that for most this will be the largest financial transaction you will ever make.  We have been there on both the buying and selling side multiple times and we know the real estate process and the stress that comes with it.  We understand what you are dealing with and how to get you the right information so you can make your decisions with security and confidence.

Surprise!  Everyone likes a good surprise, but they are never welcome when you are buying or selling a home.  Getting an unexpected check in the mail is great, but finding out your roof needs to be replaced 2 months after you have moved in is not a good surprise.  We have the knowledge, skills, and training to give you a complete picture of how your home is put together, how all the individual systems work, how they all work together, and if anything is missing or in need of repair.

Our inspections and reports use the latest technology from voltage meters, moisture meters, infrared thermometers, borescopes, GPS, and much more.  The report that you receive is delivered within 24 hours of the inspection and will contain over 400 points of inspection items with written descriptions, pictures, video, and possibly sound recordings.  All reports come with a convenient Summary Page that list all defects and repair items and associated pictures in an easily readable and compact form. Your report can be viewed, downloaded, and even forwarded from your own personal login via our web site.

A few words from our home inspector and co-owner: Jason Perigo

For nearly 20 years I have been involved in the construction industry in one fashion or another.  From digging ditches to driving nails all the way up to designing and engineering multimillion dollar projects around the United States, I have experience and knowledge in almost all areas of construction and home building.  I know how and why things our built and how your home should operate as a complete, fully-functioning building.  I also know why things fail, how to recognize when repairs are really needed, and how the repair should be made.  All of this knowledge and experience is great, but it really doesn’t matter if you can’t package and deliver it in a meaningful way that the client can use to make their decision with security and confidence.  This is my strength and passion: getting to know you the client, understanding your particular needs and concerns, and giving you a home inspection and report that is unique to you and your individual set of circumstances.  I take the time to get to know you, will perform your home inspection with you in mind, and will provide you with a report that is unique and tailored to fit you.
